Native of Belfast, Northern Ireland.

Tom played in 1979-1980 for Ballymenea United Reserves as Left Back, before joining Dummury Rec as a Left Back and Mid Fielder  from 1980-1986, it was at that time they won the League and Cup Honors.  In 1987 Tom moved up to be the Coach for the Dummury Rec Reserves and then to be the Head Coach for Dummury Rec in 1989, this team won Cup Honors .  He then went on to the Shorts Soccer Club from 1989-1993 were he held the Assistant Head Coach, and then Head Coach position.  1993 Tom was recruited to be the Assistant Head Coach for East Belfast Soccer Club, it only took a year before Tom then became the Head Coach, during the next 2 years this team went on to win the Civil Service Soccer Tournament and also 2nd Place in the Amateur League.  It was his track record that lead Tom to his next position in 1997 as the Head Coach Reserve Team for Distillery Soccer Club Irish League.  This team went to the Top of their League for the first time in years, and then to the Semi-Final of George Wilson cup.  During this time Tom had been attending various levels of Coaching Classes and was given his Grade 2 Certification from the Irish Football Association. 

 

United States

Tom then moved to work in the United States and could not live without his soccer, he began his career in the U.S. working with the Wichita Wings Soccer Camp during the summer of 2000-2001.  He was then asked to Head Coach The Royal Cheetahs U-16 boys team, which very quickly went from not seeded in State, to 2nd in State that year.   In the spring of 2001 Tom began what is now called the Northern Ireland Soccer Camps, of which he assisted over hundreds of youths in the Wichita and Surrounding areas with Soccer.  He coached with the Kansas O.D.P. (Olympic Development Program), and became the Assistant Regional Director (Kansas) for Team USA, which he set aside to become the Director of Coaching for River City Soccer Club and the Kansas Licensee for Coerver Coaching. In 2005 Tom assisted in taking over a 4 million dollar soccer complex that was donated to the City of Wichita - Stryker Soccer Complex, he was appointed the Director of Coaching/Facility Manager.  That same year Tom and a group of volunteers created Evolution FC where Tom was the Director of Coaching and Head Coach of a U14 (which became 2nd in State) and U10 Boys team.   He now has moved to Florida to Assist Paul Gibbons with Coerver Coaching South East and to work as a Club Coach for Treasure Coach United.
